Religion
Christianity is the largest religion in Germany and next largest religion being Islam followed by Buddhism and Judaism. The German constitution gives freedom of faith and religion and also states that no person can be discriminated on the basis of their faith or religious opinions.
A Planning Culture
Germans are believed to be the masters of planning. This is a culture that has resulted in forward thinking and knowing what they will be doing at a specific time on a specific day. Germans believe that maintaining clear differentiation between people, places, and things is the definite way to lead a structured and ordered life. Work and personal lives are rigidly divided.
They believe that there is a proper time for every activity. When the business day ends, one is expected to leave the office. If one must remain after normal closing, it indicates that he did not plan his day properly.
The German Home
Germans take great pride in their homes. They are kept neat and tidy at all the time, with everything in its right place. They follow a culture where most communication is rather formal, but the home is one place where one can relax and portray his individualism.
The home may become a place for formal discussion when some close friends and relatives are invited into the sanctity of the house. There are many unwritten rules about the outward maintenance of one's home. They follow cleanliness, like a religion.
