Chinese Cuisine

It is known that the Chinese not only enjoy eating but also believe that good food brings harmony and closeness within a family. Today, Chinese food has a wide spread popularity all over the world. These are a varied range of Chinese food that satiates the taste buds of many.

Chinese food applies the philosophy of Yin and Yang. The idea is to achieve a healthy balance between the two. Food that is cooling are said to have yin and those items which are warm to the body are said to have yang. A balance in the food color, flavor and texture is followed. The Chinese cuisine consists of a large variety from different regions with some mouthwatering dishes.

Chinese cuisine is a rich cultural content that has developed and matured over the centuries. It is prepared by fine selection of ingredients, fine processing, including minute details such as amount of fire, and substantial nourishment. Eating habits, local flavours and snacks have developed according to regions, historical factors.

Guangdong cuisine uses a variety of fresh and tendern ingredients such as birds, freshwater fish, snakes, and saltwater fish. Generally they use three snake dragon tiger meeting, dragon tiger phoenix snake soup, stir-fried shrimp, eight-treasure lotus-seed glutinous rice, fresh mushrooms in oyster sauce, pot-cooked soft-shelled turtle, and crisp-skin roast piglet.

Shandong Cuisine soups are most famous, green onion is commonly used as a seasoning. Shandong cuisine is best known for its variety of seafood dishes, such as sea cucumber braised with green onion, braised snake-head egg, crab eggs with shark's fin, Dezhou roast chicken, and walnuts in butter soup.

Sichuan cuisine famous Sichuan dishes include spicy pork shreds, diced chicken with peanuts and vegetables, bear's paw, chicken cubes in mixed spices, bean curd with chilli and Chinese prickly ash and fried carp.

Huaiyang cuisine famous dishes include beggar's chicken, sweet and sour mandarin fish, chicken pieces with egg white, boiled salted duck deep-boiled crab meat in clear soup and steamed shad.
